Ouzo is a white alcoholic drink with high alcohol content, usually served with water or ice to lower its potency. Mezedes is the plural of mezes and refers to all of the food that accompanies ouzo. This food is placed in the middle of the table and is meant to be shared and eaten in small bites. Mezedes can be all varieties of meat or fish, potatoes, tzatziki, fried eggplants or zucchini, tomato balls, meatballs, etc.
