Given their extroverted characters, Greeks tend to kiss, hug, and touch each other a lot when they meet and talk. It is a sign of friendliness. If someone gives you a light hit on the shoulder or starts pinching your cheek, don’t be offended. That simply means he/ she likes you a lot! However, if someone shows you his open palm with all five fingers extended please do take offense. This is what we call μούντζα/ mountza in Greek and it is a gesture that shows anger and that people think you are an idiot. 🙂 It is very common to receive a moutza when you drive!
